The Foundation’s initial gathering was hosted in November of 2003 at the home of Joseph Bailey, founder. Its purpose is to serve the citizens of the Tri-County area, Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester. By coordinating resources, the Foundation can realize its purpose and mission. These include education, housing, job services and business exposure. The following year, the annual event was held at Charleston's Gaillard Municipal Auditorium. At the culmination of the 2004 B.A.S.H., Bailey's B.A.S.H. Foundation sponsored a family in need.  They were connected with Resources that provided them with Housing and Employment. 
 
With the success of the first two phases, the Foundation realized that the problems in our community continued to worsen while affecting hundreds of citizens.  So, during the next few years, the Foundation continued to help citizens with its limited resources, while Dreaming of a grander plan to reach even greater numbers. That plan is called Bailey’s B.A.S.H.

The ultimate, overarching goal of Bailey's B.A.S.H. Foundation is to interweave all the resources under one roof with the construction of a Rehabilitation and Resource Center with the capabilities to serve citizens of Tri-county area: Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester to counter Statewide Issues of... Education, Unemployment, Crime, Health & Wellness!

The organization has established its non-profit status.
